Episode 09: Redline

Mike's leg is still busted and Easter got in the way last week. That means its time to fly solo again, as I watch Redline (not be confused with Redline, Redline, or Redline), which is a great example of all flash no substance; Chef, which is a great example of all substance with a little bit of flash; The Interview, which is no flash and no substance; Cobra, which is all aviator shades and neon Pepsi signs; and Tango & Cash, because smug Jack Palance never gets old.

Episode 08: Dark City

Mike's alive! To prove it, I made him watch 1998's Dark City on a laptop. Then we discuss Unforgiven, Midnight in Paris, Predators, The Severed Arm, Radio Ranch, and Prisoners of the Lost Universe.

Episode 07: Star Trek: The Motion Picture

This week, I fly solo again, and in addition to the first Star Trek movie made, I discuss Black Dynamite, Sword of the Valiant: The Legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, American Ninja, and the 13th Warrior. One of these things unwatchable.

Episode 06: Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky

Mike went and got himself injured, so I'm left to fly solo this week. That means I get to watch the absurdly violent and violently absurd "Riki-Oh" AKA "The Story of Ricky" If you saw "The Shawshank Redemption" and thought "this needs more heads getting punched off" then its the right movie for you. Then the King Kong vision quest continues with "King Kong Lives," in which Kong becomes a daddy. Then brief digressions about "Commando" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" because this is what happens when I have full reign over things.

Some news also gets discussed, which could become a recurring feature.

Episode 05: The Grand Budapest Hotel

Its winter and people get sick, so have a previously recorded but not posted episode. Its basically new!

This week, we discuss The bareknuckle action of the Grand Budapest Hotel, the whimsical charms of Road House, and the crippling mediocrity of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Then we discuss genres we want to see more and less of.

Episode 04: Birdman or (the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

Its Oscar season, so what better way to spend it than by watching Michael Keaton in his underwear going insane?

That's right, we watched 2014's Best Picture winner Birdman, then discuss Big Hero 6, King Kong Escapes, the 87th Academy Awards, and the first Cleveland Comic Con.

Episode 3: Dreamcatcher

This week, we discuss the Stephen King adaptation/critical flop Dreamcatcher. Then we discuss Beverly Hills Cop, Outland (the Sean Connery space cop movie, not the Scottish highlands drama), talk nonsense about the upcoming year in film, and more.
